‘Recycling of Vegetable Waste Oils’ Protocol Signed with Habitat Recycling in Tuşba, Van The Municipality of Tuşba in Van signed a protocol with Habitat Recycling Environmental Industry and Trade Limited Company for the "Recycling of Vegetable Waste Oils." Continuing its efforts for environmental sensitivity, Tuşba Municipality has signed a protocol to ensure the effective collection and recycling of vegetable waste oils. A Project for Recycling Vegetable Waste Oils Launched in Fethiye In Fethiye, Muğla, with the support of Habitat Recycling, the proceeds from vegetable waste oils will be used for street animals and to purchase saplings for contributing to nature. The “Vegetable Waste Oil to Nature” project was launched with the support of the Nature Friend Association and Habitat Recycling and Environmental Industry and Trade Limited Company. During the promotional meeting held at Şefika Pekin Girls’ Vocational High School, Gökçen Gökmen Bayram, President of the Nature Friend Association, stated that the proceeds from the vegetable waste oils collected from households would be spent on street animals and saplings would be purchased to contribute to nature. Bayram emphasized that their goal was to raise public awareness about recycling. After the presentation, 19 liters of vegetable waste oil were donated to the association. 4,412 Liters of Waste Oil Collected in 1 Year in İzmir Buca In the Buca district of İzmir, the municipality collected 4,412 liters of vegetable waste oil in the past year. Citizens who brought 5 liters or more of waste oil were given dishwashing detergent as a gift, while the collected waste oil was recycled. Through a project initiated by the Buca Municipality Climate Change Department, awareness was raised to prevent vegetable oil waste used in households from being poured down sink drains, causing blockages, and to eliminate the environmental dangers it creates. While the project aimed to raise environmental awareness among citizens, the collected waste oils were recycled and contributed to the economy. In the past year, 4,412 liters of waste oil were collected through the campaign, which received great interest from the public. As Habitat Energy, we are proud to have participated in COP29, hosted by our brotherly country Azerbaijan. During the meeting, significant decisions were made regarding green transformation, carbon trading, and climate finance. Turkey’s commitment to sustainability was once again demonstrated through its goals of implementing climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies for the 2024-2030 period, as well as increasing the share of renewable energy in total installed capacity to 59%. Furthermore, the targets of raising the share of renewable energy to 50% and nuclear energy to 30% in total energy provide a crucial roadmap for the green transformation process. The events and meetings held at our pavilion in the Blue Zone, successfully moderated by Prof. Dr. Halil Hasar, were a great success. Additionally, the pavilion in the Green Zone, themed “Zero Waste” by the Presidential Communications Directorate, attracted significant attention and strongly reflected our country’s environmental awareness.
